Lindy's Letters of Love

TWELVE STEPS TO CHRISTIAN RECOVERY:

STEP ONE: We admitted we were powerless over the effects of sin and that our lives had become unmanageable. (Roman 7:18)

STEP TWO:  We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves; namely, Jesus Christ, could restore us to sanity and health.

STEP THREE : We made a decision to turn our wills and lives over to the care of God as we understand Him. We made a decision by faith to trust Jesus Christ as savior and Lord and to turn everything over to His care (Rom. 12:1.)

STEP FOUR: We made a searching and fearless inventory of ourselves. (Lam. 3:40.)

STEP FIVE: We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. (James 5:16A.)

STEP SIX: We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.(James 4:10.)

STEP SEVEN: We humbly ask the Lord to remove all our shortcomings. (John 1:9.)

STEP EIGHT: We made a list of all people we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. (Luke 6:31.)

STEP NINE: We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others (Matthew 5:23—24.)

STEP TEN:  We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it (Cor 10:12.)

STEP ELEVEN: We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. (Col.3:16.)

STEP TWELVE: Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs. (Gal. 6:1.)
